MYERSVILLE, MD - A local golf course is donating green fees for the entire month of June to a scholarship fund in Virginia.
The money will go to the Yeardley Love Scholarship Fund.
Love, a lacrosse player at University of Virginia, was tragically killed last month, one month before she was scheduled to graduate.
Musket Ridge, whose management is based out of Charlottesville, is now donating all green fees from their 1:00 tee times to the fund.
That number had a special significance for Love.
"Her number was number one on the team, so that inspired us to select the 1:00 tee time," says First Assistant Golf Pro Bobby Jones.
The price of a tee time Monday-Thursday is $75, Friday-Sunday is $95.
Jones says 100% of the proceeds from those tee times will go to the scholarship fund, which will be given out annually to a University of Virginia lacrosse player.
