MYERSVILLE, MD – July 4, 2014 – Musket Ridge is proud to give a complimentary wedding to the deserving couple selected for its fourth Love & Liberty Wedding Giveaway. Michael Crunkleton is a Senior Airman in the Squadron of the 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard located in Martinsburg, WV. He and his fiancée, Lindsay Stine, will be married on September 11, 2014 at the award-winning Catoctin Hall at Musket Ridge.
“Michael and I are so thankful for this wedding,” said Lindsay. “We were planning a wedding before he had Reserve training abroad in 2016, but when the timeline was moved up a year, we could not afford a wedding before he left. We are so excited to be able to take this next step as a married couple now!”
Michael is a cargo loadmaster whose unit was awarded the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Air Force Expeditionary Award last year for its dedication in moving military cargo and personnel in an unprecedented rapid unit swap in Afghanistan and Spain. His unit was able to move over 350 personnel including cargo and aircraft in 25 days, when no other unit had ever accomplished a unit swap in under 45 days. Michael was awarded the Air Reserve Meritorious Service Medal.
Lindsay has completed her education as a special education teacher at Hood College and will graduate in December with a bachelor’s degree after her certification this fall.
Michael has traveled extensively with the Air National Guard. “Michael has served in almost every time zone,” mentioned Lindsay.
Musket Ridge created the Love & Liberty Wedding Giveaway in 2011 to recognize the bravery of the military and first responders in the 10th anniversary of both the Club and the tragic events of 9/11/01. Damon DeVito, managing director of Affinity Management (www.affinitymanagement.com), which operates Musket Ridge, said, “We again received many well-deserved nominations. Michael and Lindsay stood out due to their outstanding dedication to their country and communities.”
Musket Ridge will donate a wedding ceremony with sweeping mountain views across one of Maryland’s most beautiful and highly rated golf courses. Their 150 guests will enjoy a seated dinner reception in the light-filled and recently expanded Catoctin Hall.
Musket Ridge has been one of Golfweek’s top ten courses in Maryland for the past 9 years and was named Best Golf Course by Frederick Magazine. Catoctin Hall at Musket Ridge has been called “Maryland’s Best New Event Venue” and is the first zero food waste facility in the United States.
