Wedding FAQs

Yes, we are delighted to host your ceremony. On our grounds we have a beautiful white pergola with stunning views of the Catoctin Mountains and the rolling golf course. We also have a number of indoor arrangements that serve couples well.

How many hours is the reception?
A reception lasts for four hours. You may add time in half-hour increments for an additional fee.

Yes, a banquet coordinator will assist you once you book your event with us. On the day-of, there will also be a banquet captain and a bridal attendant to make sure all your needs are met.

How much time do we have for set up?
In almost all cases wedding parties have two hours before the start of your event. Some wedding parties request longer times based on availability. Additional fees apply in those cases.

May I hire an outside catering service?
All food and beverage at Musket Ridge, except for the wedding cake, is to be provided by our skilled and creative catering team. Please note that our liquor license requires that we provide all alcoholic beverages.

Do you charge to cut the cake?
Cake cutting assistance is complimentary in all of our wedding packages. After bride and groom cut the cake, our staff will take the remaining cake into the kitchen, cut and serve it to your guests.

I read that Catoctin Hall at Musket Ridge is a zero food waste venue.  What does that mean?
All of the food waste generated on-site (from weddings and other events, the Lock, Stock & Barrel grill room and the kitchen) is not thrown away - instead, it is composted into fertilizer using a Japanese process called Bokashi.  It is estimated that the Club's zero food waste initiative keeps 8,000 pounds of food waste out of landfills annually.  Musket Ridge is proud to be the first zero food waste venue in the United States.

Does Catoctin Hall recycle?
Yes, all cardboard, aluminum, glass and plastic is recycled.  Musket Ridge Golf Club has several other practices that show its commitment to being a responsible steward of the environment:

  • Rainwater collected by on-site rain barrels irrigates the organic garden.
  • Kitchen grease is turned into biofuel.
  • A partnership with a local elementary school environmental club enables and encourages its students to lessen their environmental impact and grow a garden at the school.
  • Cleaning agents are free of chemicals that harm the environment.

Can we bring in our own liquor?
Our liquor license will not allow you to supply your own liquor. If there is a particular beer or bottle of liquor or wine you want, we will do our best to obtain it for you.

Can I have a tasting?
Of course! We want you to sample the delicious offerings from our catering team. You can set this up with your banquet coordinator.

If my guests have dietary issues, such as vegan, gluten, dairy free, etc., will you be able to accommodate these?
Absolutely, our Chef is highly accomplished at all types of food preparation and we are delighted to work with you. Please raise specific issues with us as early as possible so we can prepare a plan with you.

Do you have food options for children?
Our chicken fingers with fries is the most popular choice for children.

What are the guest table sizes?
We supply a 108' sweetheart table, 120' and 132' guest tables. We assist with the floor plans to help you get the most out of our space. We are also delighted to help you in renting other table sizes upon request. Additional fees apply.

Do we have to use your preferred vendors?
Not at all. We have preferred vendors so that we can assist you with suggestions for vendors and advice. The final decision is yours.
